as a kiwi living in Oz for the past 30 years it is encouraging when an ozzie politician says, "we are more than neighbours ... we are family." in times of tragedy which I have experienced far too much of in my job, short sentences with such powerful words are a reminder of our bonds. r.i.p. my fellow brothers, fathers, uncles and sons.

It's heartbraking what you guys in NZ are going through. What with the current mine tragedy and the recent Earthquakes a few months ago. I've only heard great things about your country and your people. I still look forward to coming over after Christmas and sharing times with the NZ community.
Adrian.

"The church bells rang 29 times so we knew it was final and the end of the line. Now 29 miners are at heavens gate with coal silt dirty faces asking is it 2 late? When god replies with half a grin no my children come on in. They place their mining lights gently on heavens floor when god said "job well done" leave your boots at the door. Repost in memory of the 29 miners that died at Pike River Mine RIP XXX"

Thanks guys.
It's a bit hard to know what to reply to this thread. We are nowhere near Greymouth, but you can't help being effected by the disaster, and feel for those involved.
I agree we are one people in two different countries, and if Aussie is playing sport overseas then I always support them......unless its against us of course!
