Woaha...Thanks man, blown away by the appreciation.
Yeah the guy I got it from did a good job.
The wiring is going to be a complete nightmare.
Got it for a good price, bought it like the day after advertised.
At the moment I'm always gonna be late on the 308 as it's running like a bag of shit, but it is runnning so that's better then I had hoped for when I bought it.
Also the gas is working too, however I have no idea whether it will be certifiable or whats needed.

i had wiring nightmares in my black beddy.. had sparks coming out of the indicator stalk.. dont ask me how i managed that???? so i ripped the whole thing out and replaced it with one from a nother van.. its the only way to do it i recon! start from scratch. the best thing about your van is that all you need it to get a wiring loom of a hz hj hx and use the whole thing except the tail lights.. cause you have the dash and the motor from a hz hj hx.. only thing is its handy to have a car there with the wiring to copy off.. i had 2 vans to copy off.. made it pretty simple really.. only had a couple of hickups and she was rocken and no sparks wahoo!!

check to see if it has a inspection plate for the gasshould be under the hood..

love that dash!!

Yeah I love the dash too! my cousin had a few GTS dashes lying around, at one stage there in the late 90's he had 10! He is a freak. I hope he has still got one for me, my Beddy could do with a new dash. I am also considering the electronic dash from a VK... Electrnic dash in beddy = slick. Jd

i am so gunna do that mod to my black beddy!!!! i have the gts dash.. steering colum already modifyed for bedford (thanks eddy!!) all i need is the surround.. which is easy to come by and a wiring harness to go to the gts stuff..

cool!!!!

Oh wow, not even close. ;)
I picked it up for $1,800 and spent another $150 for a tow truck up to Brissie. ;D
I know that now is when the real spending starts, but given how clean the body shouldnt be too much of a hassle.
I think that i'll spend way more in rego, mod plates, road worthy etc then I did on the actual van, I'm certainly not complaining tho.

Wow Maymann!!!!! What a price!!!!!!!!!!! If you were given no engineers Cirts with van you'll wanna get some. And not just for the motor brakes and exhaust. you'll need some for the seats dash and collum also. Shouldn't cost too much though if the work was done well. Great to see the collum was added with the dash it looks great! I haven't got the glove box in mine because that's where my aircon is fitted, but I'm looking at changing that at some stage and adding the gbox to complete the dash. Can't wait to see your van for real. You gonna make it to the Brissi meet up?

Hey Ben you've probably noticed that the GTS dash is a couple of inches narrower than the Bedford, so if you center the dash you won't see the tacho as it'll be behind the steering wheel because all the instruments will sit over to the left.

From memory my last engineers report which was for my seats cost me $175. Don't know if that's good or bad but I was pretty happy!

I have to say again that that is a top van!  ;D What a score!  ;)  8)

175 sounds really god for me ay..

for a motor down here in vic i recall $700 starting price hey.. expensive..

yeh i knew it would not be wide enough but i didnt know that the tacho would be over the steering colum if centred cheers for that..

have you get the same setup in your van tweaker? if so did you have to cut into the body behind the bedford dash to make it fit good or did you just go over it?

cheers
ben

Hi Ben,
I'll post some pics of my setup into my gallery for ya. And yes I have the same, but mine started out as a HX Statesman dash. You'll see the transformation from Statesman to GTS in my photos (when they go up). I've cut my dash in 2 places and extended it so it reaches all the way accross the Bedford. It's not quite finshed but when it's done it'll look like a long HZ GTS dash. The way mine was done was to cut out the front of the Statesman (bit under windscreen) and weld it into the Bedford. That way you just connect up the dash as you would originally into the Statesman. Makes it easy and looks great. I've seen a few done, but non others with the front section from under the widscreen fitted. You'll notice that I have 5 windscreen vents. 3 original Beddy and 2 Holden..... and the old speaker grill.

You will also see that the whole dash does sit too far over to the left. Which was no real problem when the dash was Statesman, but when I changed to GTS I had to make the move so I could see all the guages and the left indicator.

I'll take some photos of a local Bedford trayback with a complete GTS dash fitted and post if the owner don't mind........ I've been eyeing this off for 10 years, it's a nice machine.

Hey Maymann got any pics of the section under the windscreen for us? Between the windscreen and dash pad that is.

Cheers!

Hey guys, thought it was about time I made an update.
Here's some photos I took of the last visit to old mate panel beater.
I got all the accesseries together, wheel flares, mirrors, side steps and  bubble windows that I got from Arron.
Still working on the handles, big thanks to Jock for that and all in all shes still a work in progress.
Should be getting painted this week then back to the mechanic for road worthing and certs.
I'll try to keep updating as I go.

G'Day Guys and Gals, I received confirmation regards the Price rise from my Suppliers which has been the first rise since November 2002 which I feel is pretty good going on their part, the new Prices as of November 2007 are;

*BFS59 - Bedford Front Spoiler $210.00
*BB04 - Bedford Bonnet (Bolts straight on as per original) $340.00
*BWAF17 - Bedford Front Wheel Arch Flares (suit Front Spoiler) $160.00
*BWAF18 - Bedford Rear Wheel Arch Flares (suit Single Wheel model) $160.00
*BWAF19 - Bedford Rear Wheel Arch Flares (suit Dual Wheel model) $210.00
All Prices include GST & are available to Australian Residents Only.

As a guide for anyone wondering, I have just done up a quote for a fellow from Perth which I figure should be as far from here as it can get except for Tassie and NZ of course, and the Quote for P&H was $132.00 to send Two Cartons containing front and rear Wheel Arch Flares for a SWB Bedford as well as a front Spoiler, plus a Flat Rate of $11.00 for Insurance be it for one part or a dozen...

I hope this in part helps some of you out with building an OldSkool Beddie Van like they used to back in the 70's and 80's...

Anyone wishing to gain a set Quote for P&H to their front Door shoot me a email to; DieCastCollectables@Yahoo.com.au along with your Post Code and State/ City details and I will get back to you ASAP...

Cheers, Pig (OINKS)
