Hey ladies and gents,
I spent the day wrecking a wreckers.. there is a pile, literally a pile of tail lights..
So if you need tail lights for your car or project or whatever, let me know what you want and I'll have a look for you.
Example, right rear KC laser, both rear VL commodore, both rear TJ magna
etc..
I cant say for sure the lights will be there, but there were plenty to look thru
Lots of other parts too, plenty of commodore and falcon dashs, lots of side mirrors - none that look like they'll suit a bedford tho, quite a few different seats - mainly 1990's, lots of steering columns
I basically only have tomorro to grab parts, but I MAY be able to get some on sunday.. so if you need anything let me know tonight and I'll see what I can find
Cheers,
Matte

G'day
I thought Crowns had disc brakes. What are they good for? I know blokes doing up old Holdens want the diff centre as it is a straight swap in. I found a couple of centres for mates but I didn't bother getting any other parts.
I will keep on the look out for you.
Regards

Yeah they are disk brakes. I use them on my Celicas to convert from 4 stud to 5 stud.
Carton of beer plus cost of purchase for each set found ;)

I have heard that the early toyota crown chassis were often used by guys wanting to build up a replica ford cobra kit car? :-\
-
Not sure why anyone would do that. The Cobra kits come with a pre built tube chassis. Maybe they use them for something else? Hot rod or something?
-
some kits were done on toyota chassis so were some rods they also use early dato king cad ute chassis on rods. I think they came from Kylsith
-
Yeah Johnno they dont use them anymore coz they dont pass the more rigid beaming & torsional tests required now Cheers Neil

Thanks Neil....I was wondering about that.... ;D

hey fellas, sorry for the delays, ive been flat out lately.. it's taken me 2 weeks to get enough hours tio get my power windows installed.. but mission accomplished.. ;)
anyway, i haven't been back to the wreckers since the monday after i posted, and i think they're out by now.. dont rememebr seeing much in the way of front hubs tho.
I got 1 XB wagon tailight and one XC wagon tail light, they look sweet, but would take a bit of effort to fit to a bedford.
I have a couple of EA falcon steering columns with cruise control switches, plenty of E series falcon ECUs, a couple of mirrors that'll suit bedfords - all non power, plenty of exterior door handles - most wont fit a van without major modifications, plenty of interior window winder handles - most wont fit a bedford, a couple of window mechs from various cars - most will fit a bedford with some or no modifications, 8 ea-eb snowflake style rims, a couple of power door lock actuators from various models, plus lots of other stuff im keeping for myself ;)
if any of that sounds appealing to you, let me know and i'll get some pics.. I'm willing to sell everything that im not keeping for myself reasonably cheap
Cheers,
Matte

I was just browsing Mezzmo's gallery and he's got a couple of pics of a universal power window kit fitted. I'm looking at doing the same for only a couple of hundred bucks. There's also an accessory switch you can get that will raise the windows when you use the central locking. $169 for the window kit and $59 for the accessory switch. Paste the link below into your browser to check them out.

George, nah i never got any photos as my phone has a mind of its own nowadays.. its very difficult to use and only has a small number of simple functions working - not including the camera unfortunately.
I can take some pics of the windows installed but that is pretty useless as the process is what was needed. I dont really recommend using the BA mechanisms to anyone else, i only used them because I already had them. The aftermarket kits I would get are the same as Dano's, the autoloc kits, good quality motors and dont rely on the bedford's manual mechanisms. plus the most important thing is that the motor in Dano's kit is at the very bottom, so the clearance issues I had will not be a problem. Half way thru I considered just getting the autoloc kit, but I was keen to just make it work regardless of the effort.
The one touch/auto rollup module I got was quite expensive if bought in australia, I ended up getting it for less than half price delivered from the US. it is a good quality unit, and was the only one that had all of the features I wanted specifically. I got it for just over $60 but retails here for $150-200
Wiring it in took some time, mainly because I'm so fussy with good soldering and heat shrink plus grouping the wires and taping everything together, but the result was worth the effort.. I had to work with a spot light until 2:30am saturday night as I'd planned to spend saturday doing it until i got asked to work..
All in all well worth the effort, but I recommend taking the easy route ;)

Not sure we have those over here ;D :o ::)

the easy route, getting someone else to do it. lol ;D What are they charging for the autoloc system, and can you get them from rocket industries.
george.
-
Warren, they're all easy routes.. some are just more expensive to set up than others ;)
George, DO NOT buy from rocket, unless you want to empty your bank account.. it is FAR cheaper to order direct from the US and pay shipping. Get on ebay.com, setup a paypal account and bobs your aunty. just search for autoloc, then weed out the results. you'll be looking at $200-$300 delivered or there abouts. you'll also have choice of switch designs, but that'll cost extra. If you dont want the one touch/auto roll up module I can give you a relay circuit that'll make the windows operate quickly without burning out the switches.. my module has all that built in so I cant use the relays..
