Would a thin spacer behind the wheel help?

By wrights, the tie rod should stay the same distance of the rim, unless it is starting to wear and it twist when turning the wheel. check for slop and easy movement.

In that case I would say you have an HQ disc conversion and it's the caliper hitting the small tab that sits out from the wishbone. You can grind that tab off if that's what's causing the issue. Just smear some grease over the ground bit when you've finished to get rid of the shiny bits and no-one will ever know.

from the CRS instruction sheet

"Note: On the rear outer ends of the bottom wishbones, remove the steel protrusion as
under some conditions this could hit caliper."

Rogue, is right if you have discs, just read this in a copy of CVT you have to do this if you use a Disc kit.
