by reversing the mounts it sets the motor back a bit, worse comes to worse drop the fan blades and put a thermo on, the rear cross member will have to be modified to suit pending what trans you have, reroute the wires for the alternator , starter motor and dissy, then modify the throttle cable to suit the carb. take the tail shaft to some one to shortin it, make sure they balance it, other wise it will viberate, most 308 in a vk come with trymatic so you might not have to do the tail shaft, but if l remember yours had the celica 5 speed, and the tail shaft had to be lengthened to go in to a old holden or a commodor, hatfields had sleeves to change the diameter of the tailshaft if need be. l hope that helps jim. Just remember once you pull it a part, it's gotta go back togeather or so she tell me

when i put a 308 in my old bedford all i did was get hq v8 engine mounts and it bolts straight up to the holden six crossmember mounts.very quick and easy.as mine had a trimatic  all i did was put a v8 trimatic in it and original tailshaft fit.

When I V8ed my last van I just cut away bits as it went in.
I don't know how else you could do it.  :-\

No, sorry Jim. it was a Holden and they're wider. Also I mounted the motor about three inches to the left so that there was still room for my foot.
