Title: Heater controls
Post by: hotrod on August 12, 2008, 08:12:45 PM
Sounds like a silly question but
The heater controls, there doesn't appear to be a fan, is this normal or am I overlooking something.

The fan control is a push/pull knob on the dash. Bottom left.

Still no joy
on the dash is the headlights, the choke(bottom left), and the wipers
the heater controls only have hot/cold and off/screen/car control levers which don't appear to pull out either ???
Oh yeah and its bloody cold outside with a torch, was -2 last night

Hey ColdRod

Usually the Heater fan is located in the inlet tube to the heater box, about half way up, the tube draws fresh air from the left hand side of the grill.

The switch is normally in the bottom left corner of the instriment cluster, but may be anywhere, depending on wether your van has ben caniblised or not.

easiest way to find the switch would be to work from the fan back.

i think youll find the swith is usually on one of the heater controls in the centre of the body where its mounted standard.. if you pull the lower of the two out the heater fan switch should turn on the fan..

but most of the time no one uses the fans anyway cause they are not very effective and so the rear bearing seizes up.

not hard to unseize thou.. just pull it apart and regrease the rear bearing.

I'm with Ben on this one, the bottom heater control lever pulls out, and the fans always seive but can be revived

Nuh! seized solid and motor fell apart in my hands as I tried to salvage the fan blade off of it
Have since purchased and fitted a good one
