Title: Hello from Ukraine.
Post by: Abodator on January 04, 2010, 12:35:46 PM
Hello guys.
My best wishes to all of BUGA members from Odessa (Ukraine).
Hope not later then the end of this month I will be the owner of Bedford CF280 (1980, GM 2,3L diesel engine, ZF 4 speed gearbox). I was trying to find any information about GM 2,3L in your site, but I saw that the bigest part of you are used the petrol engines mainly. ;-| It is so sad for me. ;-)
At any case I will try to find the information on other internet sites. At any case your site is GREAT!
Wish you all the best. Good luck and health. Happy New Year!

Alexander aka Abodator
New CF lover from Ukraine.

p.s. Sorry for my bad english. Hope you can at least imagine what I try to say. :-)

Welcome to BUGA, Abodator.  :)
Your English is very good, and easy to understand.
If you google " CF-UK " you will find the English site where they have many diesels, and people who understand them.  The information is hard to find though; its in a link from "A Short History of The CF"
Most of the diesel Bedfords down here are Nissans , fitted by the owners.
Good luck with your new Beddie.

Hey mate, i just had a look at my Haynes manual, it is a petrol specific manual, however you may be able to get a diesel version of the manual. check out what you can find on the internet, but if all else fails call a book store that deals with automotive type stuff and ask them to look for a diesel version of the haynes book.

If all else fails, drop a v8 in  ;)

;-) Thanks for attantion for my problem and your advices.
What is done by me till present:

1. I paid (via ebay) for the print version of Haynes Bedford CF's service manual which include all diesel engines manufactured by GM. I will get it soon. I hope. ;-)
2. I registered in UK CF's owners site and some guy promised to send me the CD version of service manual which also cover the GM diesels and ZF 4 speed gearbox.
3. the huge quantity of photos of CF's repair and modification projects was downloaded by me from internet sources around the world. ;-) (even your projects, guys and other great CF's projects in AU)
4. the photo gallery of my future CF280 was created and published in internet ;-) (hope this must be helpfull in future when, you guys, would try to know the version of my van and types of related parts on it. Lol. This is the address: www.in.odessa.ua/abodator/cf280/index.html (http://www.in.odessa.ua/abodator/cf280/index.html)

One more time thanks for your answers.
Abo. (<--- my nickname in short)

p.s. There isn't so many Bedford cars in Ukraine. No more then 3 or 4, which incl. 2 CF. All of them have a differencies between each other. NO even two the same type of engines, body or transmissions, etc.! So I will try ... to kill you ... via my newbie's questions time to time. ;-)
Can I? ;-)

Hello guys.

I gave a half of total ammount of price to present owner and I must send to him the second half no later then at the end of january. Then ... I will kill the all blue badges. Promise. :-)

The cold and snowy winter is in Ukraine at present. The roads is all under cover of ice.
The van is located 500 km away from my town. Present van's tyres is in bad condition.
Hope the weather bring me a chance to deliver it to Odessa at the begining of february. ;-/

But I can't want to waste a time for nothing. So ... I am trying to learn the Cf's theme deeper and well. ;-)

At least I know what is the old Holden Commodore engines -))) And what is the differencies between 8" and 9" diffs salisbury and bango type. :-) The web sites in NZ and AU related to cars and vans is so great. Especially for learning about how my dream will come true. :-) Thanks to all site owners in NZ and AU for that!

I goes ... to school one more time in my life. ;-) But ... I like to learn. :-))))

Can you send me any BUGA's or australian CF owner's sticker (for windshield) together with bonnet badge? It will be for the history and friendship between all CF owners. ;-)
