Happy New Year to all.
For all you Kiwi vanners, The Van Association has again booked an area at the Kumeu Classic Car & Hot Rod Festival. Currently we have the same area we had last year. If you want to bowl along and put your van on display let me know and I'll save you a spot. Some of us will be out there from Friday night and we'll be there 'till Sunday afternoon. If you don't want to put your van on display but are going along for a look, come and call into our site and say hi. We can be found by the track going to the lower show arena, just look for the VANZ banner. This is one of the biggest shows in the southern hemisphere and well worth a look.
Dates are 16-17 January at Kumeu, west of Auckland. If you're planning to come for a look or want to display and party with us either post here or call me on Auckland 478 5733. Mobile is 021354467.
Cheers and see you there.
Garry.

Thanks Garry.
Definitely keen to come along. I should have the CF1 home by then, but it needs some work before we can show it, so will just come along for a look see.
Cheers

I'm coming with at least one van (hopefully custom)
Is anyone not going up friday night and want to meet up at westgate or something for a convey to the show on saturday morning?
-
I'm intending on going over Friday afternoon and will be out there the whole weekend. Not sure when the others are planning on arriving at this stage so not sure if there will be a convoy from westgate or not. I guess it'll just be a "turn up when you arrive" type thing.
Looking forward to another great event out there. Hope the weather's good.
See you there,
Garry.

Hi all, as the norm, no work done on the van, and will have it's motor and box out to replace a couple of seals at this date. But will call in Garry and say hi, don't know you but I'm sure our paths crossed back in the 80's. David might see you up there, if not will catch up soon. Cheers Bas

Hey Bas, yeah i got up there, I left at a bout 8 and got stuck in the traffic too, van went well though and didn't overheat or get hot.
Parked up with the VANZ, chatted with the guys, got a few good scores from the swap meet.
It didn't rain like it was meant to - grr instead probably got a bit of sunburn.
Should be a few of the boys up there tomorrow (sunday), so go early, park up with the van club and wander around.
Only bedford parts for sale were a pair of old chrome front bumpers (dented) and a beford flat deck in bits with V6 rego on hold for $2200

Yea David, got up there at 8.00am, sweet no trafic, left around 12.00pm, none of the guys turned up but Garry said there was about 6-7 vans there Saturday. Never mind, so no photos for the Buga boys, but sure garry (Sundowner) would of got some. Had a talk to Garry, Mal and Fish, nice guys, looking foward to being back on in the van for the runs etc. Given the state of my health the day went well no problems at all, so as you no it looks like things may be returning to normal after all these years, my boy was real happy dad was able to take him there, but ofcourse spent most of the time in the kids area. Will park up there next year for sure.
