Hey guys, its been a while.
The Van is going for a full respray soon, its got a few minor dings and scratches and they all add up to more than a full metal repair and respray so we're going for it but want to fit flares before hand.
I am trying to source flared arches and remember there was talk on here of some being made up. (CF2 LWB)
Any joy? or am I going to have to make some up from sheet steel?

Well time is running out, I've decided to make some steel ones.
I have drawn up some ideas of what I want.
I'll put them up soon and keep my Van thread updated with photos of the work.

sounds like a good option bro!!
keep up the fantastic work

Well I made up some templates out of cardboard, they looked ok but I left them on overnight and it rained :'(
It didn't take too long to do so I'll do some more soon... The van is going in on wednesday, and its got a flat battery at the moment. :-\

I like how the back ones have come up so snug around the tyre. I might have to have a go at this :)
I posibly would tighten up the one on the front I know it going to be hard as you got to allow movement to turn, but I reakon it would look nicer if the flares came a bit closer to the tyre. Just a thought other wise it looks like they going to come up great.
Are you looking at doing them out of steel or glass
Cheers Phil

nah looks like he is doing them out of cardboard:)
the best thing about cardboard is it flexable, mouldable, looks great in brown!
the downside to cardboard is it only comes in brown!!!, sort of flops a bit in the whether, wont really hold its shape very well,
all in all its a good option. actually anyone thats interested ive stopped making fibreglass flares, and im making cardboard ones now:) only thing is ive had to put my price up cause the cost of the materials have gone through the roof!!!!

Yeah Benny....And if you get a real heavy shower of rain they will also work as side skirts to give you that road hugging stance ;D ;D :P
-
you could always try use the wax coated box's that fruit can some times come in,
might last a little longer. ;D

Looks like I should have looked back up the top before I wrote the above comment :) Dosn;t take long for you Aussie to twist up the words :)
