Title: HQ Holden Brake booster mod

G'Day I have installed a HQ booster and master cylender and a set of disks and calipers to my icecream van  but i cant get any brakes they bleed up fine but i only have about an inch of travel on the pedal is there any other things i need to look at regarding the brake actuation I am quite desperate as i need to have this thing going to participate in the variety bash everything is new or rebuilt !!!

Have you tried test driving it ?

You dont tend to have as much travel with a disc brake system as compared to a (poorly adjusted) drum brake system.

Possibly there is a difference in the length of the actuator rod that goes from the brake pedal to the master cylinder, preloading it and shortening the sroke.

I have not done a conversion (mine already had discs) so cant comment an further - others might have more ideas.

You need to make sure that the master cylinder has been cleared of any air first.
I just changed mine over and I bled the master FIRST before connecting the brake lines.
Then used several viscous stamps on the pedal then one long to-the-floor on each bleed to move any air down the lines.
Always bleed the longest lines first on back then front.
