I'm led to believe that the Hoden Rodeo is supposed to be the same.Don't hold me to it thou.I nearly bought a Van for parts about 12 months ago and it had a set of wide rims on it, the Mechanic was the one who told me that they were off a Rodeo.I took too long to make up my mind on wether or not to pay a $100 bucks for it. I went back 2 weeks later and the bloke had  crushed it so never got to check out wether he was correct or not. :(

G'day

Stated on a previous thread is that the 5 stud Landcruiser is the closest. It is usable but not perfect.

Ummm in a word Bugger but thanks guys, did a bit of research CF PCD is 5 x 152 and way out there in a world all of its own.
Yep the transhit van is close too and one or two of the 4x4's, but if ya made an adaptor to 5 x 114.3 then there is a plethora of wheels that will fit.

So thats an option, anyone running wheel stud adaptors on here ??

Tried to get some made not long ago but no luck. Ended up changing axles and currently doing disc front end with matching stud to rear. Not a lot of people will do those adaptors anymore, are they legal in NZ?

yes they are legal, but must be bolted to existing studs and then new studs offset should also be on the low vol cert for vehicle.

What axle/disc and stud have you gone to and have you docoed the change for the rest of us nosey BUGA's  ;)

Whats the problem with the CF pattern? Good trailer shops will have alloy and steel rims in the bedford pattern and a lot of small tractors also use the bedford patten.

Went to Pre AU ford pattern - as the front discs are new i had the stud pattern drilled from blanks. Took the Diff to a specialist who redrilled the axles and drums to suit. Not much to doco i'm afraid.

Cool mezzmo, shane in NZ most trailers use ford or holden stud in 14 or 15" rims.
Trojen trailer parts one of the big after market suppliers for trailer bits also use these patterens.

I have found a local company that will make certifiable addaptors to any pattern I want for around $220.00 a pair.

Cheers

Whats the problem with the CF pattern?

Where I live the roads are very bad. If you are a long way from home and hit a big pothole and bend a couple of rims, you have a better chance of getting home if the CF has Holden or Ford stud pattern rims.

More mag wheels are available with a standard stud pattern

So true hence my reason for wanting to change, the second hand wheel selection is bigger and much cheaper.

Must be hard living in down town mexico :P

I have just got back from the local BCF and they have 2 galv steel rims with bedford pattern in stock. The Kratzman boat place down the road has 14" galv, painted steel, and alloy bedford patterns in stock also ;)

same here Chris the RTA  think its ok for us to have to drive on shit roads, but i suppose its not like were paying enough money through rego, fuel, insurances or other for them to think otherwise.
so looks like NSW RTA  roads are the worst around, thanks RTA.
cant even get em 2 fix the potholes in front of my place that keep me awake every 30 mins 24hs a day because of all the big trucks doing 80 to 90kms kms an hour over them.
sounds like frigging thunder.
thanks RTA

You're the one worried about needing a wheel quickly when you damage one in a pot hole ::)

Not me Shane That was Blackbedford, he's worried about fallinng in to a black hole, with a black bedford it could be sometime before he's discovered missing.
Im in NZ we fix our pot holes, well prety smartly anyway.

You guys in NZ don't have any wheels that are made locally?

We certainly do but there is absolutely no benefit to sticking with the CF stud pattern. It just limits modification in so many ways. If you are going to move to discs then you are better off converting to HQ or Ford. It means you don't have to have the discs re-studded and you are open to a huge range of wheel styles. Perhaps not quite so easy with the diff but there are more benefits to swapping your diff out with a 9", 12 bolt or Jag than there is in keeping the original and if you really want to keep the original it's not that hard to have the hubs re-studded.

Great if you're someone who is quite happy with original equipment but my attitude is MODIFY EVERYTHING!!!!! 8) ;)

My thoughts exactly Rogue If it needs changing put something more late modle in then it's easy to get parts for Cheers Reid

I understand there are many benefits to changing diff/stud pattern infact I'm changing mine, but I think people are starting/already believe that you cant get wheels to suit the Bedford pattern which is not true. Any decent wheel shop will be able to order in just about any wheel you want with the stud pattern you want. If you cant get a particular rim in the pattern you want then that wheel is probably cheap rubbish.
You shouldn't have to pay an extra for mags with custom PCD either, the only downside to custom rims is having to wait till the next batch goes through production. Not so bad if you're dead keen on a certain style.

We still have a couple of small neich manufacturers here, but they dont make for production.

Mostly do race wheels, hot rod and drag wheels, see www.arrowwheels.co.nz (http://www.arrowwheels.co.nz)

Problem with the Arrow wheels is that they are no good if you are planning on putting any weight in the back of your van or using it for towing. The rims don't like it so the owner of the outfit told me.

oh ok thats interesting I know Lance well, but have yet to speak to him about wheels for my van, I was just going to either stick with what i have or go to a ford holden pattern and get something more generic.

wheels are a bit of a way off though...
