Title: the local economy is stuffed around here
Post by: BlackBedford on June 03, 2009, 12:31:17 PM
G'day
An indication that the local economy is stuffed around here. I went to an auction sale yesterday and most things went for $1!
It didn't seem to matter what was in the box or how big it was $1
5 piece dining room setting $1
A big box full of kitchen electrical appliances $1
A really nice 4 piece solid timber queen size bedroom setting 50c
A Tucker Box freezer $5
A LARGE quantity of brand name toys $27
There were plenty of people there, just no money.

I maybe feeling the pinch, not such a good week...looks like work is laying of almost a quarter of staff, find out tommorow if i still have a job, got a Bedford van sitting in the rain with baremetal, thanks to a mechanic who wont return my calls and flat out lies...and i cant even get it cause its "hubs" are off apparantly.....so no doubt the relatively easy cut and weld job is now most likely a written off van....Thanks Hammers.

No there was nothing there I wanted so I left.
It was a bit sad really.
It was the contents of a lock up storage shed and was everything out of somebody's home.
They hadn't paid the monthly fees and the Real Estate Agent sold the lot.
Even had the family photos; the box they were in was bundled with a box of DVDs and sold for a $1.
The entire sale would have only made a couple of hundred dollars at most.

hey kirk bro ....... settle. each of us has down times. I had grand plans of getting the tow van on the road by 1 July and am in the middle of taking 2 weeks off work to get the tow van up to a registration condition then I got hit with a bill for $2100 outa no where and had to sell the campa. Now I find I got 2 weeks off and not enough cash to finish the tow van and we are expecting to go away for 5 weeks in July. Now it looks like our plans have been thrown in the sh##er so I got 7 weeks doing nuthin coz of our cash crisis. I was really looking forward to a good break and some quality time out to help me get over the tragedy of the bushfires. Suck it up big fella ..... theres more out there far worse of than us. Keep focused on the beddie and not the dramas .... all the best  Eddy  ;)

Im sorry Eddy,

This is nothing like that.....I trusted someone to do a job, i was told by that person they were doing the job, i was told by that person they had almost finished that job, i had paid money up front in good faith, i was told that my possesion was locked up and safe.... everything i was told was or seems to be a lie, furthermore that person REFUSES to answer my calls in regards to my property, and to top it off, when they believed something had been stollen they decided NOT to tell me.....for months...AND still NO CALL....NOTHING....

Now you say "settle" eddy, but to be frank...i think at this stage ive been a damn saint.

Look Marty,

I dont know if he is going thru hell, i dont...mainly because he wont talk to me...and only tells me lies....im a very reasonable person, and having spent 3yrs suffering medical depression, im certainly a forgiving person....but i think at the very basics of decency..i deserve the truth and an answer...

I highly recommend the Crash Course. It is a laymans guide to big finance and why the USofA is screwed.
