Title: Heater problems
Post by: oquip on May 03, 2009, 05:31:45 PM
  Hi,
     I have a 1972 C.F Bedford Bedouin Campervan,re-powerd with a 173 with auto trans.
Can any members give me a few clues on how to hook the original heater system up to
     the 173 motor.

well the heater fan is just an electric motor. so you just need to run power to that with a switch so you can turn it off and on.

and the actual heater core is just water plumbing from the cooling system. im not quite sure if it matters which way the water flows through the heater core but i think from memory it should run in the firewall side and out the facing the engine side.

will try remember to take some photos tommorow.

is your vehicle on gas?

ben

there are two pipes at the right of the thermostat housing that were used for the holden heater, they probably have one hose folded over blocking them off.
these connect to the heater core.

Hi,
   Sorry Able,no pics.
                Warren.

you need to change something in your settings... i can see them fine.

click here and have a look at them in my gallery...
http://www.buga.com.au/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=21&g2_itemId=6026&g2_page=2 (http://www.buga.com.au/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=21&g2_itemId=6026&g2_page=2)
they are at the bottom... named heater and heater2.
you can click on them to enlarge them.

if i remember correctly you might have to drill out the blank facing up on your water pump for one of the hoses..... not 100% on that though.

Nope, sorry, it's something you've done. I can't see them either and there's nothing wrong with my settings.
